Letchworth is a hidden gem, worth any trip
Due to the railroad bridge construction and subsequent removal of the circa-1875 bridge just above the upper falls, the Portageville entrance has been closed for a few months as of this writing. An employee at the museum next to the Glen Iris Inn told us (on September 29, 2017) that the currently estimated the park entrance and upper falls will reopen around December 2018. Fortunately Letchworth State Park has multiple entrances. Portageville entrance is the closest entrance to the upper and middle falls if you're visiting from the south.
